The IDP initiative: Towards inclusive, democratic and productive settlements in Marawi and Iligan
The IDP initiative is a partnership project of Lombay Ka Marawi (LKM), an organization of internally displaced people from the Marawi siege, with NGOs that support LKM’s objectives.
The project has three main components:
- Promoting the participation of IDPs and LKM in the governance mechanisms concerned with shelter and rehabilitation
- Claim-making of IDPs for safe and secure housing
- Increasing the options of IDPs for sustainable livelihoods
The partners use various methods of capacity-building, evidence-based planning, and engagement among government and non-government sectors to contribute to LKM’s mission of obtaining culture-sensitive, responsive, appropriate and sustainable interventions for the welfare and development of Marawi IDPs
